Students in the Ph.D. program also establish a sub-field by doing a minor program or by taking courses in related disciplines. It complements students’ work in French literature and culture by offering another disciplinary perspective or critical tradition. The minor needs to be completed prior to taking your preliminary oral examination.
If you chose to complete a minor, the courses and requirements for your minor will replace your outside coursework requirement. You can review available minors here, or by visiting that department's webpage. To declare a minor, please contact the Director of Graduate Studies in that department. For some minors, you are also able to add or remove them via this online workflow. Please inform the FRIT GPC if you are interested in, have declared, or have removed a minor.
