Tuition & Fees

Fellowship or teaching assistantship recipients with at least 50% appointments receive tuition remission for up to 14 credits per semester. This does not include student fees, other fees, or books. In addition, students with a fellowship or assistantship, along with their families, qualify for resident tuition rates. (The University has different tuition rates for resident and non-resident students; a resident is considered to be someone who has lived in Minnesota for at least one year before starting school at the U and who moved here for a purpose other than attending school.) Students who have held an assistantship for at least one academic year are also eligible for extended resident rates for a period after their assistantship has ended. For more information on graduate assistantship benefits and requirements, see the Graduate Assistant Employment (GAE) office’s website. Specific information concerning current tuition and fees is available on One Stop.
