Topic Courses

There are now strict rules and procedures concerning undergraduate topic courses.

  • No topic may be offered more than two times; the second time it is offered, we have to submit a syllabus in addition to the other requirements. If you want to continue teaching that topic, you must propose it as a new (non-topic) course.
  • We need more information for undergraduate topic courses than we did before. In addition to the long and short versions of the title and at least one SLO, we also need a course description (the kind you would put in ClassInfo).
  • You must submit your topic title(s) by a deadline. We cannot add topic courses into the system until we have the topic title. Topic titles that are submitted late will have to take whatever rooms might be available after all other courses are scheduled. If there are no rooms at the preferred day/time, we will have to move the course to another day/time when there are rooms.
  • Deadline for topic titles & information: approx. January 2 for Fall Semester of the next year.
  • Deadline for topic titles & information: approx. February 1 for Spring Semester of the next year.
